| This is my first cutter, and it exceeded my expectations. The lines are crisp even when cutting small text, and the software is extrememly easy to use. | ||||

| Use it every day (5/5) | Aug 23, 2010 | Darrell | MN, US | |
| This is our second SV-8 in the department. Ws use the cutter almost everyday and are extremely happy with the results. Our application includes cutting paint mask for very detailed painting of aircraft parts. Since we started using the SV-8 our internal masking costs have dropped dramatically. Great product with great service behind it. | ||||

running nicely on my Mac PowerBook Pro old with OS10.6.8 Snow Leopard and Illustrator10(full legit version. not edu) and No problems at all. Also rans nicely on my Mac Titanium PowerBook G4 running OS9 and Illustrator 10. it cuts outlines graphics/text directly out of Illustrator, you click the "cut" button, and it locates the plotter and asks (just like with printing) one final time, then it cuts. the studiocut plug-in has a window, if you do not have a graphic showing in this window, there is nothing yet to cut. once you get a proper outline of your graphic, it instantly appears in the window, and you are Good To Go. the presentation out of the box was above what i expected. it has a Much nicer solid and secure feel to it than an inkjet printer. we are cutting small text at 5/16" tall. the accuracy and clarity of the output is impressive. Illustrator itself is hardly the unfathomable situation that impatient people make of it. It may however, appear a bit daunting at first to the less-than-gifted (that would be me) amongst us. i am tickled pink with my new Roland Stika SV8. |

| I love this vinyl cutter. Right out of the box it was easy to instal the software and the driver. I was up and cutting within 20 minutes. The support that is available from Specialty Graphics is pretty amazing. I bought a 24 Inch cutter from another site and it came with no instructions and no manual and stopped working within 6 months. Everything was trial and error and the company that sold it to me was no help. With The Stika machine and the Roland Cut Studio, I feel like a pro already. I know it sounds cheesy but it's true. The FREE start up kit was pretty darn sweet too! Weeding tools as well as squeegees, vinyl and application tape. Thank you so very much! You have a new loyal customer! | ||||

installation was without issues, as Mac life should be. we are up and running on either the 667mz TiBook on OS-9 and Illustrator 10, or on the MacBook Pro with OS-10.6 (snow leopard) and Illustrator 10. it cuts nicely either way. the down loaded software has two parts. the "Plug-In" one needs to be dropped in Illustrator's Plug-In file (easy). the other is a file you place in "applications" in OS-10, or just toss onto the hard drive in OS-9. it seems a properly robust installation. no bugs or weirdo oddities have emerged ... as yet. the entire cutter is 13-3/8" wide. it sits nicely on top of my desk's paper tray. it is not heavy, but is quite solidly built and does not twist and creak. i live light, and own few things ... but they are nicer things, and built by good people. my Roland cutter fits right into my home. |
