I just bought this cutter/plotter from Specialty Graphics, and it's been a lot of fun learning what I can cut and can't cut with it. The blades that come with it are somewhat limited to materials such as regular sticky back vinyl, card stock, and papers about that thick. However, with their new SGS blade holder and a 60* blade and even the 45* blade, it allows for cuts of even thicker materials. The Cutting Master 2 plug-in for Illustrator works seamlessly, and I had no problem installing it. It's nice to send jobs right from Illustrator, including doing a small test cut to ensure the blade depth is correct. Sending the job to "Cut" is incredibly simple and lightning fast with Illustrator - I was literally shocked how fast the cutter would start once I hit send. The only complaint I may have with this cutter is the mats being too sticky for regular paper or even most card stocks. It would be nice if there was an intermediate adhesive not as tacky as the mats that ship with it allowing cuts of normal paper. What happens is the paper sticks so well to the mat that when you peel it off - half of the paper sticks the mat - rendering it essentially useless. I am sure there are solutions for cutting normal paper - I just haven't discovered them yet. Otherwise - great cutter, and the deals on this site are the best that I could find on the web, and their customer service is amazing! |

| Still learning how to use it, but the things I have done work well, great for contour cutting and doing Vinyl Tee Shirt logos. | ||||
| Just what I needed (4/5) | Oct 16, 2009 | Nicholas G. | MI, US | |

Over all the Craft Robo is exactly what I needed as I go through Graphic Design classes. This machine makes cutting to a precise line so much easier and accurate. Although I absolutely love this machine and what I have been able to create I am giving it 4 stars because of the similar issues I had with trying to cut regular paper. In all, I was disappointed to think on my first cut from the box and using regular paper the sticky of the carriage sheet was so GREAT that it ripped and created a mess after trying to remove. I had to think outside the box and do some searching on the internet in trying to reuse the carriage sheet despite the idea of being lost. Also, I have found that there is some learning curve in using the Adobe Illustrator plugin in with your Robo. After figuring out some of the basics and once again doing some searching on the subject I had been able to push the limits. I would order another Craft Robo with out a doubt and highly recommend. I also recommend that people take a few minutes and full research the machine before purchase. It is an Excellent solution to your cutting needs. |

| A decent cutter for a decent price. Cuts a good as most of the $500 craft cutters, but for half the price. Software was very reasonable as well. I'm a happy camper!! | ||||
