Roland Stika SV-8 Vinyl Cutter + CutStudio Software review by peter v.

installation was without issues, as Mac life should be. we are up and running on either the 667mz TiBook on OS-9 and Illustrator 10, or on the MacBook Pro with OS-10.6 (snow leopard) and Illustrator 10. it cuts nicely either way. the down loaded software has two parts. the "Plug-In" one needs to be dropped in Illustrator's Plug-In file (easy). the other is a file you place in "applications" in OS-10, or just toss onto the hard drive in OS-9. it seems a properly robust installation. no bugs or weirdo oddities have emerged ... as yet. the entire cutter is 13-3/8" wide. it sits nicely on top of my desk's paper tray. it is not heavy, but is quite solidly built and does not twist and creak. i live light, and own few things ... but they are nicer things, and built by good people. my Roland cutter fits right into my home. |
