Magnetic Usage and Care

IMPORTANT MAGNETIC BLANK AND DIE CUT USAGE & CARE GUIDELINES

CAUTION!!  FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAN RESULT IN PERMANENT DAMAGE TO VEHICLE FINISHES.  IN SEVERE CASES, THE MAGNETIC CAN BECOME PERMANENTLY BONDED TO THE VEHICLE'S FINISH.

IF YOU ARE RESELLING SHEET OR DIE-CUT MAGNETICS, PLEASE PROVIDE THESE CARE INSTRUCTIONS TO YOUR CUSTOMER.

SURFACE PREPARATION
The vehicle's surface should be waxed a minimum of 48 hours in advance before applying the flexible magnetic sheeting or die-cut magnetic shape. For new vehicles or newly painted vehicles, allow approximately 90 days for the paint to cure before applying the the flexible magnetic sheeting or die-cut magnetic shape. Wipe the surface of the vehicle with a clean dry cloth before application and make sure that all grime, dust and dirt has been removed.

INSTALLATION

It is best to apply the flexible magnetic sheeting or die-cut magnetic shape when the temperature of the magnet is near room temperature or about 68-degrees F. Carefully align one edge of the flexible magnetic sheeting to the vehicle's surface. Allow the remainder of the sheet to apply itself to the vehicles surface. Do not allow air pockets to form under the sheet or die-cut shape.  If the magnet isn't aligned correctly, completely remove the sheeting and start over again. Do not pull or drag the flexible magnetic sheeting or die-cut magnetic shape to realign as this can damage or stretch the material.  Do not apply magnetics over vehicle body moldings, non-metallic body fillers, wood grain vinyl siding or panel gaps or loss of the magnetic may occur during higher driving speeds.

REMOVAL

Remove magnetic sheeting or die-cut magnetic shape periodically to guard against moisture and dirt buildup. On vehicles it is recommended to remove magnetics daily to ensure that the vehicle and the magnetic sheet surfaces are clean and free of roadway debris. Dirt or moisture trapped between the magnetic and your vehicle can permanently damage it's finish.

CLEANING

Clean the magnetic sheeting or die-cut magnetic shape with a mild detergent, wipe with a soft cloth and allow to dry. This helps to lengthen the life of your magnetic and protects the finish of your vehicle.

STORAGE

Store magnetic sheeting or die-cut magnetic shapes in a clean dry area. If rolling, roll with printed or non-magnetic side out. Store on end to avoid any flat spots. If storing flat, store on a clean, smooth, flat surface. When stacking, do not stack magnetic side to magnetic side due to the potential of wrinkling caused by improper pole alignment.

NOTE
Failure to follow the this care guide may cause permanent damage to the applied surface and/or the magnetic material itself.  The MagOne Company and Specialty Graphics Supply Inc. cannot accept and will not be held liable for any damage caused by abuse, misuse or the failure to follow this use and care guide.
