Credit Card Fraud Prevention
We take credit card fraud seriously! To protect credit card holders and to keep our costs down, we review each online order for potential credit card fraud. Credit card fraud is a growing problem in the USA and we are committed to following the credit card industry's recommended best practices in order to reduce our risk and help keep our prices low for our customers.
Orders with the following characteristics will be flagged for further review:
- The credit card billing address provided does not match the billing address on file at the card issuing bank.
- The ship-to address is different than the credit card bill-to address.
- Orders containing incomplete information such as phone numbers, email addresses, etc...
Steps we may take with flagged orders:
- Verify addresses and phone numbers provided.
- Contact Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express and ask them to contact the card holder for order verification.
- Review the IP address to verify the geographic location of the customer.
- Contact the customer as ask them to copy and fax us a copy of their drivers license and the front and back side of their credit card.
If our risk management department determines that the the credit card risk is high on any particular order, the credit card transaction will be voided and the customer will be asked to pay for their order by check or money order.
To prevent order processing and shipping delays, customers should:
- Make sure that the credit card billing address provided matches the billing address on file at the card issuing bank.
- Make sure that the order ship-to address is the same as the credit card billing address.
- Provide complete contact information including a valid phone number and email address.
